Environmental issues are significant on a global scale, particularly the issue of plastic waste, given that Thailand uses tens of billions of plastic bottle packaging annually, which is an extremely high quantity. In addition to advocating for individuals to decrease their plastic consumption, establishing an effective separation management system to facilitate the reuse of such materials is a critical undertaking. This has the potential to mitigate the environmental impact of plastic waste in the future.

On December 23, 2020, the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation and Chulalongkorn University (Industrial Technology Research and Development Center Project) entered into a cooperation agreement (Memorandum of Understanding: MOU) to jointly undertake the development of a novel plastic bottle recycling machine called “Crush Bottle Bank.” The project’s financial objective is to procure five plastic bottle compression machines for research and development. The overall intention is to impart knowledge, foster comprehension, and advance the cause.
