Safe Food Project for Underprivileged Schools (Share for Life “Pan Im Pua Nong”)

C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth

More than half of the world’s population eats rice as a staple food, similar to Thailand. Even though the country has begun to develop more industrially and technologically, rice farming remains the most important aspect of agricultural production.

“Rice” is a product derived from the diligence of Thai farmers and has nourished Thailand since antiquity. As a result, rice is inextricably linked to Thai culture. As a result, rice is highly valued by all Thais, regardless of size. Meanwhile, the Nutrition Division has established nine rules for good eating for Thai people’s health, known as the “Nine Points for Eating Well and Being Happy,” one of which states that rice is the primary food and alternates with some starchy foods.

The Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation and the C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and Salana Organic Village Company (Social Enterprise) Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 15, 2020, to carry out the Share for Life project “Pan Im Pua Nong.” The project’s objective is to deliver 34,000 kilograms of organic rice of five varieties to 63 schools in the provinces of Chachoengsao, Lopburi, Singburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Sa Kaeo. It is expected to be finished by 2021, ensuring that 14,250 students have enough rice in the cafeteria, eat safe rice, and receive nutritional value that will affect learning and growth appropriately.

“I’d like to thank the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for donating rice to the school to be used in cooking to meet the needs of the students in order to develop their bodies, nourish their brains, and improve their ability to learn, which is an important force in the nation’s future development.”

Mr. Arkom Yimcharoen

“I'd like to thank you for donating rice to our school so that we could eat breakfast. There are five varieties of rice that are both delicious and useful. I promise to study hard and be a good child.”

“I am delighted that the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation has donated organic rice to our school. The school provides organic rice to prepare meals for students to eat as part of both the Breakfast for Children and Lunch projects. Students eat nutritious rice, which reduces the risk of toxic chemicals becoming contaminated and keeps them healthy and immune. I’d like to thank the Foundation for the opportunity and sincerely hope to receive your support again.”
