Ban Phaeo Hospital

Suthirat Foundation donated money to build an eye surgery center at Ban Phaeo Eye Hospital in the amount of 69,900,000 baht.

This eye surgery center consists of 9 high-standard eye surgery rooms to create vision opportunities for the many patients who are waiting with hope for the light. Dr. Phonthep Phongthawikorn, Director of Ban Phaeo Hospital The representatives who received the donation were a team of doctors and nurses. The director of Ban Phaeo Hospital spoke about the origins of the cooperation with the Suthirat Foundation in creating this opportunity for vision that “Ban Phaeo Eye Hospital originally raised funds to build a hospital specifically for treating eye diseases until receiving donations to build Phase 1 of the Eye Hospital, which opened in January 2022, there was still a lack of funding for the construction of the eye surgery center that is the heart of this Ban Phaeo Eye Hospital by the Suthirat Foundation team, who came to donate and support the hospital’s activities while assisting heart patients and providing medical equipment during the COVID-19 crisis.”

The Suthirat Foundation has always been interested in and follows the work of Ban Phaeo Hospital. It was discovered that the hospital has the potential to help people, as evidenced by the determination of the medical team, nurses, and the readiness of personnel with special expertise in ophthalmology. There is a clear plan to expand opportunities, and there is also a mobile medical unit that travels around providing care to people in various locations. The Foundation recognizes the importance of allowing people to access treatment in order to increase their chances of being seen. Therefore, they have donated funds to help build an eye surgery center at this eye hospital.

The value of the Foundation-supported eye surgery center cannot be compared to the opportunity that society will receive, as there are still many patients awaiting treatment. Even though the medical team, nurses, and personnel are all prepared to operate, there is still a lack of an eye surgery room. Thus, if this support is provided, patient care can continue. It will allow the public and patients to have greater and faster access to ophthalmic medicine, in accordance with the Foundation’s objectives.

The construction of Ban Phaeo Eye Hospital Phase 2 began in July 2022, and this opportunity to see is made possible through the power of faith. The construction of Ban Phaeo Eye Hospital Phase 2 will be completed in March 2023. This will allow Banphaeo Eye Hospital to expand its capacity for eye surgery, providing people with access to a high-quality health-care system that can handle the number of patients waiting for surgery. Furthermore, it can care for patients transferred from the Ministry of Public Health’s Health Service Area 5, which includes Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Phetchaburi, and Prachuap Khiri Khan, reducing the burden of referring patients to Bangkok hospitals.
